TMRPA will maintain regional trails data and expand outreach on energy and data-center issues

TMRPA Director Jeremy Smith told commissioners that following the dissolution of the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, TeamRPA has stepped in to maintain the regional trails plan, the trails report and associated geospatial data.
Smith said TMRPA has created a web page for the regional trails plan and is coordinating with Washoe County GIS staff to validate the dataset before publishing it as the de facto regional trails data on the county’s open-data portal. He said the agency is also pursuing a small, pooled-funding approach to support a part-time independent contractor (estimated cost on the order of $40,000 per year or less, not finalized) to coordinate trails work previously carried out by the foundation. Former trails coordinator Jay Howard is volunteering hours while a funding/administration solution is developed.
