Beaver County commissioners approve package of resolutions, appointments and routine business

BEAVER — The Beaver County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 28 approved a package of routine business that included proclamations, a block of resolutions, reappointments and one new appointment to the county Drug and Alcohol Advisory Council, and administrative items handled by unanimous voice vote or by consent.
The commissioners approved two proclamations: one commemorating the Franklin Center’s 40th year of service in Beaver County and another designating Sept. 5–11, 2025, as TDM Week. They also approved minutes from recent meetings, authorized payment of county bills and accepted a human resources personnel report listed as Attachment A.
The package included reappointments of Amanda Bikoski and Richard Jobick to three-year terms on the Beaver County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Council running from Aug. 3, 2025, to Aug. 2, 2028, and the appointment of Charles Rossi to a three-year term beginning Aug. 28, 2025, and expiring Aug. 27, 2028. Addresses for the appointees were read into the record as provided by staff.
The county solicitor told the commissioners that resolutions numbered 082825-01 through 082825-19 had been reviewed by the law department and recommended for approval; the board voted to approve that block of resolutions.
Other routine matters approved by voice vote or unanimous consent included the approval of public meeting minutes for Aug. 14, 2025, work-session minutes for Aug. 13 and Aug. 20, 2025 (the Aug. 20 work-session minutes recorded one abstention), a motion to pay bills presented by Controller Longo and the human resources personnel report.
No roll-call tallies for the routine items were recorded in the public meeting transcript; each item was carried by voice vote with commissioners signaling “aye” and the clerk recording the motion as carried or noted abstention where it occurred.
The board adjourned after a brief announcements section that included a notice that the Beaver County Courthouse will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, for Labor Day and that the next public meeting is scheduled for Sept. 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ public meeting room.
