The Crawford County Board of Elections on Aug. 27 voted to post notices proposing two polling‑place changes: Vernon Township Ward 3 would move from West End Elementary School on Brooks Road to Watson Run Church at 13158 Conneaut Lake Road, and Linesville Borough would move from the borough office at 103 West Erie St. to the Behr Family Active Aging Center on South Planeturning Street.
Elections staff said the Vernon Township change responds to parental concerns and site logistics at the elementary school, and they described Watson Run Church as accessible, with ample parking. Officials acknowledged concerns about traffic flow because the church sits near a township line and said they will consult PennDOT and local police about signage and traffic management.
For Linesville Borough, staff said the borough office has had repeated accessibility and parking challenges over the years; the Behr Family Active Aging Center was described as an accessible alternative with adequate parking and quicker ingress and egress for voters.
Under the county’s process, the board approved posting both proposed changes and will open a five‑working‑day public comment period. Elections staff said they will hold a follow‑up meeting on Sept. 3, when the board will take a formal vote. If moved, affected voters will receive new voter ID cards and mailings notifying them of the new polling sites.
Election board members discussed signage and traffic control for Vernon Township and agreed to notify PennDOT and local police where appropriate. The board received no formal opposition during the meeting and set the Sept. 3 meeting to finalize any changes.
