Council asked to allocate city budget dollars to support Home Headquarters townhomes and urgent-care program

City officials asked the council to authorize allocations from the city’s 2025–26 budget to support Home Headquarters projects: $750,000 toward owner-occupied townhomes at the SDC site and $500,000 toward an urgent-care subsidy program targeted to income-qualified residents in Housing Strategy neighborhoods.

Michelle Sapinski, deputy commissioner of neighborhood development, said the budget language authorized up to $1,250,000 for Home Headquarters and that staff recommended splitting the total between townhome construction and the urgent-care program. Sapinski said the public-health and housing funds are intended to support income-qualified applicants in strategic neighborhoods. “We would like to put $750,000 to the SDC townhomes and $500,000 to urgent care,” she said.
