Reno County proclaims September 2025 National Recovery Month, local partners speak

"My name is Thomas Simmons. I work with the Reno County Health Department in health education," said Thomas Simmons. "This gives us an opportunity to focus on the solution instead of the problem..." He described three subcommittees of the collaborative — education and prevention, treatment and health care, and recovery supports — and urged residents to learn about local resources.
The proclamation text recited at the meeting noted the county's concern over the public-health and economic costs of substance misuse and highlighted the Reno Recovery Collaborative and community partners, including medical and behavioral-health providers, social services, law enforcement and peer supporters. The proclamation states that the county has "been leading the charge in promoting a thriving recovery community by giving support and understanding" and formally designates September 2025 as National Recovery Month in Reno County.
