Agua Fria superintendent offers to lead districtwide academic recognition efforts

Islas told the board he had met twice with Superintendent Davidson and Board President Zaidema and said he was “going to take a more active role as a superintendent.” He asked to return in October to brief the board on a plan to implement additional recognition this year.
As examples, Islas said the plan could include a "superintendent superstar supper" in January at the Wigwam to recognize first-semester academic achievers, plus recognition on billboards and in newspapers. He said he would follow up with district staff to schedule the October briefing.
The board thanked him and said staff would follow up to coordinate.
