Superintendent briefs board on state and federal education developments

She said the state Senate is preparing for its work and that Senate Republicans announced staffing changes.
At the federal level, Dr. Davidson said the district expects withheld federal funds—"well over $100,000"—to be returned in the near future and that federal discussions continue to include diversity, equity and inclusion, school choice, assistive technology and artificial intelligence.
Board members said they view the regular legislative update as informational and potentially conversational, and they encouraged staff to continue adding the item to future agendas so the board can track how statewide and federal developments may affect district operations.
