Litchfield board approves signing authority to dedicate roads at Troy Gilbert site

The Litchfield Elementary School District Governing Board on Aug. 26 unanimously approved giving signing authority to district leaders to execute documents needed to dedicate roads at the Troy Gilbert school site.

The vote authorizes the superintendent and the district chief financial officer to sign “all documents related to the dedication of the location specified” for the property at Perryville and Glendale, a district official said during the meeting. The authorization is intended to allow the district to work with Maricopa County real estate and the title company to dedicate roads after the district builds them.

The motion to approve the signing authority was made by Ms. Moran and seconded by Mr. Owens. The board voted: Mr. Owens — yay; Ms. Moran — yay; Ms. Wallace — yay; Mr. Mikes — yay; President Zaidema — yay. The motion passed.

District staff described the paperwork as standard documentation the county and title company require to accept road dedications once construction is complete. No additional conditions, dollar amounts, or implementation dates were specified during the meeting.

The action comes amid ongoing construction work tied to the district’s voter-approved bond program; staff said the dedication documents are a necessary administrative step as off-site and on-site road work reaches completion.

Board members asked no substantive questions before the vote and did not attach any amendments or provisos to the approval.

The board meeting packet lists the Troy Gilbert project and associated road work as part of the district’s capital program; the district will continue coordination with Maricopa County and the title company as the project advances.
