Huerfano County commissioners on Tuesday approved a series of routine permits, a marijuana license renewal and several contracts, and recessed into two executive sessions under Colorado law to discuss property matters and legal advice on the sheriff’s budget.
Staff presented a first-time renewal for a retail marijuana cultivation license identified as ML-24-001 for Focus Buds. Sherry Chamberlain, representing the county staff, said the applicant had no recorded violations from the county inspection and was largely in compliance after on-site repairs to greenhouse and hoop-house facilities. "If you look in our language regulations, it requires them to give us 30 days notice before they renew their application," Chamberlain said, noting a timing mismatch between county rules and the state renewal schedule.
The commission approved the renewal through Aug. 30, 2026, with the standard condition that the business comply with county regulations.
