Livingston County honors Kelly Johnson of Veterans Services for client advocacy

The Livingston County Board of Commissioners presented an employee-recognition certificate to Kelly Johnson of the Veterans Services division during its Aug. 25 meeting.
Commissioner Gross read nominations praising Johnson’s work helping veterans and their families navigate complex benefits claims. Presenters said Johnson helped a previously discouraged veteran obtain an 80 percent disability rating in under 90 days and provided ongoing support for a Vietnam combat veteran seeking benefits for PTSD and Agent Orange exposure. The director of Veterans Affairs, Ramon Baca, submitted a written statement praising Johnson’s mentorship and dedication; he was not present at the meeting.
Commissioners thanked Johnson and invited her for a photo with the board. Staff said the award followed multiple public nominations that described Johnson as professional, knowledgeable and compassionate.
