Board approves 2025–26 campus improvement plans after principals present strategies to raise ratings

Midland ISD principals presented campus improvement plans during the Aug. 26 meeting and trustees approved the full set of plans for 2025–26.
Principals emphasized common district strategies: consistent use of the district curriculum framework, daily exit tickets and mastery trackers, Teach Like a Champion instructional routines, and the Opportunity Culture staffing model that routes additional teacher leadership to high-need classrooms.
Several elementary principals highlighted the use of student data binders and family nights to make data visible to students and parents; campuses with emergent bilingual populations described bilingual-led professional development and protected language-development blocks. Middle- and junior-high principals discussed double-blocking in math and stronger PLC-based lesson internalization and rehearsals. Secondary principals noted interventions such as night school, Saturday sessions and edgenuity test-prep offerings to increase CCMR readiness.
Administration recommended and the board voted to approve the campus improvement plans in accordance with Board Policy BQ local. Trustees asked principals to provide enrollment trend information in future presentations so the board can see capacity and staffing impacts; the district agreed to supply those data in follow-ups.
