The Shawnee County Register of Deeds on July 28 asked the commission to keep an electronic archiving specialist position open for recruitment after an earlier candidate left the role during training, and commissioners approved the request.
Becky Niosi, the register of deeds, described the position as a critical role supporting technology management in the office. She said a candidate who had trained part time for about six months chose another opportunity and the office wants to continue recruitment. Niosi noted the position is paid from the register—s technology fund rather than the county—s general fund.
The commission approved the request by a 3-0 vote and the register of deeds staff said they would continue recruitment consistent with their funding source and hiring policies.
