The Florence City Design Review Board at its Oct. 8 meeting introduced three new members and recognized departing members for their service.
Chair and staff thanked Bryce Ellington, Joey McMillan and Randy Starnes for their time on the board. The board then welcomed three newly seated members: Ahmad Jack Jackson, who said he has lived in Florence more than 20 years and works downtown; Steve Powers, who noted he served on the first design review board and owns multiple downtown properties; and Tanya Mormon Jackson, a Florence native and community youth and arts advocate with study in design and architecture.
Each new member offered brief remarks about their connection to downtown and interest in maintaining the city’s character. Staff confirmed the board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Oct. 8 (next meeting date provided at close of the transcript).
