Residents and speakers press Boca Raton council over proposed government-campus public‑private partnership; items postponed to Nov. 18

Scores of residents urged the Boca Raton City Council on Monday to halt or rethink a proposed public‑private partnership (P3) to redevelop the city’s government campus, sharply criticizing the city’s public outreach and disclosure and prompting the council to postpone related agenda items to Nov. 18, 2025.

The most detailed public criticism came from Martha Parker, who identified herself as a city resident. Parker said the city gave “an incomplete and just flat out terrible job on the public outreach related to the nature and scope of that plan,” and argued that staff should have obtained an appraisal earlier in negotiations: “If the city and the council knew since 2023 that this is what you guys were going to pursue. You really should have known what the value of the land was at the onset of negotiations,” Parker said.
