Jeffersontown police report spike in vehicle thefts, break-ins in Monticello; arrests announced

Jeffersontown police told the City Council that a surge of vehicle thefts and break‑ins in the Monticello neighborhood has produced arrests and evidence now being processed by multiple agencies.

The police representative reported that between Aug. 1 and Aug. 18 officers documented seven vehicles stolen, four vehicles broken into with contents taken, four attempted auto‑thefts, two burglaries, two firearms taken from vehicles, and two license plates stolen. Police said they recovered three stolen vehicles themselves and that partner agencies recovered six others. The incidents prompted joint investigations with the Kentucky State Police and Louisville Metro Police.
