Bradley County planning commission approves four preliminary plats, greenlights one rezoning; one rezoning withdrawn

The Bradley County Regional Planning Commission at its monthly meeting approved four preliminary subdivision plats, approved a rezoning request for property on Old Freewheel Road and recorded the withdrawal of a separate rezoning application after the local sewer utility declined to proceed with a planned project.

The commission voted to approve preliminary plats for Park Springs Subdivision, Meadowcrest Subdivision, Orchard (preliminary plat previously approved in 2008) and McClanahan Subdivision. Commissioners discussed and required several corrections and conditions to the plats before approval, including added deceleration lanes and updated utility references.

Commission staff said the Park Springs preliminary plat required a deceleration lane off Oak Parkville because it exceeds the 25-lot threshold in the subdivision regulations. The Meadowcrest plat was approved contingent on correcting an erroneous reference to “public sewer by Cleveland Utilities,” which staff said does not serve that area.
