Erie EAC votes to move proposed bylaws amendments to next meeting for approval

The Environmental Advisory Council approved a motion to amend Article 10 (order of business) of its bylaws and will take a final vote at the next meeting.
At its July 23 meeting, the City of Erie Environmental Advisory Council voted to advance proposed amendments to Article 10 (Order of Business) of the council bylaws and scheduled a final vote at the council’s next meeting.
The amendments, circulated by staff in advance and summarised during the meeting, add a specific agenda item for “Amendments and approval of agenda,” move approval of minutes to a later subsection and consolidate “Other business” as the committee’s catchall item. Director Spry passed out the proposed amendment during discussion.
Chair Matthew moved to amend the bylaws as presented and a second was recorded; members voted in favor and the chair announced the item will be placed on the next meeting agenda for a formal vote. No changes to the substantive powers of the EAC were made at this session; the motion was procedural and limited to agenda order and labeling.
The council also corrected a formatting artifact in the draft (an unintended “ADFA” string) before voting to advance the amendment. The amended draft will be distributed for a formal approval vote at the subsequent meeting.
