At its Aug. 20 virtual hearing, the Boulder Beverage Licensing Authority recorded several formal actions: it continued two pending agenda items to the September meeting, continued approval of two sets of minutes because of lack of quorum for those votes, and approved a liquor-license modification for Roots Music Project.
Continuances - Agenda item 4 (Addo's): The authority voted to continue the item to the next meeting because the public posting for that item had not been completed. The motion was seconded by Member Carr and carried on an affirmative voice vote by the members present (Member Roberts, Member Carr, Member Barnes). Outcome: continued to September.
- Agenda item 5 (Riverside Group LTD renewal): The authority found the Riverside Group's renewal application incomplete (missing signed city renewal application, responsible vendor training certificates for listed employees, an incomplete tax authorization waiver, and an incorrect state DR 8400 form). Applicant Richard Mosier requested a continuance to correct the items. The authority voted to continue the renewal to the September meeting; the vote was recorded as Member Roberts, Member Barnes and Member Carr each voting aye. Outcome: continued to September.
Minutes - The authority determined it did not have the three affirmative votes needed to approve the July 16 and July 30 minutes because some members were absent or abstained. Licensing staff said both sets of minutes will be continued to the next hearing. Outcome: continued to next hearing.
Approval - Agenda item 6: The authority approved Roots Music Project Foundation Inc.'s request for a permanent modification of its entertainment-type liquor license to expand into an adjacent leased space; the motion recorded a 3-0 vote in favor and the authority announced the modification was approved.
Votes and tallies in the record matched the actions above. Where recorded, the authority's roll call used the names Member Roberts, Member Barnes and Member Carr for voting members present. Several items were continued at the applicant's request or because of incomplete filings or lack of quorum.
