The San Antonio City Council on Thursday, Aug. 21, continued multiple zoning items to later meetings and approved a series of land‑use and rezoning requests, including a conditional use allowing oversized-vehicle service and storage at 422 Heart Line Drive and a warehouse use near the UTSA area.
The council’s zoning and land use session opened at 3:40 p.m. Mayor Ortiz Jones presided. Members voted to continue a number of items to specific future dates and then considered several items individually. Public commenters raised opposition to some proposals, particularly from nearby residents.
Council action and major approvals came with conditions in most cases. For the San Antonio International Airport vicinity land use amendment and conditional use request for oversized-vehicle service and storage at 422 Heart Line Drive (agenda items 11 and 12), the council approved the application as amended after the applicant submitted a revised site plan and documentation of neighbor support. Staff had recommended denial and the planning and zoning commission had recommended approval. Members noted the applicant offered concessions for neighbors; the motion to approve as amended carried.
