Doral LPA transmits public-arts code amendment to City Council without recommendation

The City of Doral Local Planning Agency voted 5-0 Wednesday, Sept. 10, to transmit to the City Council a proposed text amendment to the city’s Land Development Code that would add a required approved on-site inspection and remove a financial-security requirement from the public-arts program certificate-of-occupancy provisions.
Michelle, the city clerk, read the amendment’s description into the record: “A text amendment to the city's land development code by amending chapter 75 public arts program certificate of occupancy section 75-108.181 to include a requirement of an approved on-site inspection, amending section 75-108.183 to remove the requirement of providing financial security and providing for an effective date.” The amendment’s specific effective date was not specified at the LPA meeting.
There was no public comment on the item during the LPA hearing. After the clerk’s reading, Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso moved to transmit the item to the City Council without a recommendation; Councilman Rafael Pinedo seconded the motion. “Motion to transmit without a recommendation to the city council,” said Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso.
The Local Planning Agency recorded a unanimous roll-call vote in favor: Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso, Councilman Rafael Pinedo, Councilwoman Linda Cabral, Vice Mayor Maureen Porras and Mayor Christie Fraga all voted yes. The motion outcome was recorded as a referral to the City Council.
The LPA adjourned and the City Council was scheduled to convene at 6:00 p.m. for its regular meeting, where the transmitted amendment will next appear on the council’s agenda.
