Select Board accepts assessor recommendation to reclassify manufactured home at 60 Middle Road
Summary
Select Board approved assessor's recommendation to merge a manufactured‑home tax card (212.04.001) into the main 60 Middle Road tax card and change the mailing/address to 60A Middle Road; assessor staff cited risk of a separate tax card with no land value.

The Brentwood Select Board voted to accept the assessor’s recommendation to consolidate a separate tax card for a manufactured home into the primary property record at 60 Middle Road and to relabel the unit as 60A Middle Road.
Town assessing staff said the file for a lot referenced as 212.04.001 contained a tax card showing only a manufactured house with no land value and a total assessed value of $13,000. The assessor’s report, prepared by Adrian Summers and presented by town staff, recommended that the manufactured structure be designated as an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) and merged into the mother lot tax card (212.04.000), with the address reclassified to 60A Middle Road.
Assessing staff explained the concern: treating the manufactured structure as a separate tax card without land could leave the town with a structure to remove should taxes go unpaid, and it creates an anomalous separate parcel in a single‑family zoning district. The board voted to accept the assessor’s recommendation and requested that the assessing office prepare a notification letter to the current owner upon approval.
Ending: The board asked that the assessing office draft the notification letter for the board to review.
