Planning Commission approves multiple plats, rezones and specific plans; several continuances set

The Oklahoma City Planning Commission on Sept. 11 approved a series of preliminary plats, specific plans, rezones and right‑of‑way and plat vacations and recorded several continuances for later hearings.

The commission opened with procedural business, received the Aug. 28 minutes and approved a group of uncontested continuance requests for multiple PUD/SPUD cases, then moved through a docket of individual public‑hearing items. Staff recommended approval on most items, and the commission acted as recommended.

Among the actions the commission approved or recommended to City Council: approval of the preliminary plat for Patios at Vaughn Pond (73 lots) subject to technical evaluations; final plat and naming of private drives within Belmont Pointe Commercial (case SB00008) with coordination between applicant and staff on drive names; a series of specific plans under previously approved PUDs (including PUD1840SP01, PUD19‑65 SP02 and PUD19‑65 SP01) found consistent with their PUD approvals; closure of portions of access drives and utility easements for Wilshire Point (CE1149) recommended to council; a closure of a west 10 feet of right‑of‑way and companion partial plat vacation in the Vizcaya Addition (CE1150 and VP9) recommended to council after neighborhood concern and explanation from applicants; several noncontiguous I‑2 to R‑1 rezones for small…
