The Goshen Town Board on Sept. 11 approved several procedural and financial items, set a public hearing on a tax-override local law and approved an event permit, handling multiple motions in a single meeting.
The board voted to introduce Introductory Local Law No. 5 of 2025, titled a tax-cap override, and set a public hearing for Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m., the supervisor said. The board's motion to introduce and set the hearing was moved and seconded and approved unanimously on a voice vote.
The board also approved an event permit application for Wagon Wheel Farm for Oct. 11'13, 2025, subject to receiving the proper departmental signatures and insurance documentation. The supervisor said departments had given verbal sign-off and the paperwork would be finalized.
The board accepted the minutes of the Aug. 28 meeting.
Finance motions passed by voice vote included authorization to pay the accounts-payable check run dated 09/11/2025 in the amount of $392,573.45 and authorization to pay a manual AP run dated 08/31/2025 in the amount of $32,408.93. The board also approved budget transfers as requested by the budget officer; the budget officer's AP reviews for 08/31/2025 and 09/11/2025 were attached to the meeting materials for information.
Ending: Routine procedural and financial measures were approved; the board set a public hearing on the tax-override law for Sept. 25 and asked staff to finalize event-permit signatures for Wagon Wheel Farm.
