Transportation Commission adds tornado debris-financing item to agenda; commissioners raise overtime, scheduling concerns

The Transportation Commission added an agenda supplement authorizing the executive director to enter financing agreements for tornado debris cleanup in Walthall, Covington and Jefferson Davis counties and approved inclusion of that addendum during its meeting.

The addendum, read into the record by a staff member, would "authorize the executive director to enter into an agreement for financing debris cleanup between the commission and the listed counties for the purpose of establishing the respective responsibilities for financing and carrying out the cleanup of debris deposited by tornadoes, which occurred on March 2025," and would permit the commission to pay its share of the state-local match under the Robert T.
