Marietta unveils new 'Innovation' webpage to highlight city projects and awards

City staff previewed a new “Innovation” page on the City of Marietta website designed to catalogue the city’s awards, AI pilot projects, smart solutions and staff-led initiatives.
Rachel, a city staff member who worked with information technology on the project, described the page as a storytelling asset. “We are an award-winning city committed to innovative practices in local government … Through forward-thinking solutions, cutting-edge technology, Marietta continues to enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and quality of services we provide,” Rachel said.
The page is organized into four categories — awards, AI-driven initiatives (including an AI-enabled utility customer-service call center), smart solutions (including a Smart Grid Technology project with Marietta Power) and “Innovators at Work,” a video series that will profile employees. Council members said they would use press releases and other outreach to direct the public to the new content.
Staff said additional materials (past press releases, project announcements and videos) will be added over time. The presentation included a short demonstration of the page and a preview video. No formal vote was required; the presentation was informational.
