The board approved the nominations recommended by the Alabama School of Fine Arts Board of Trustees and appointed Lisa Payton Gaines to open position 1 and Jean Gard to open position 2.
The board announced the intent to repeal and replace Alabama Administrative Code rule 290-080-030-.05, pertaining to supervision and administration as it relates to school-based child nutrition program personnel, and rule 290-080-030-.06, pertaining to qualifications for child nutrition program director certification and ongoing training requirements. The board then adopted an amendment to Alabama Administrative Code rule 290-3-3-.03 pertaining to college and university requirements. During discussion of the amendment to rule 290-3-3-.03, board member Miss Bill said she planned to vote against the change, stating she had outstanding concerns that had been raised previously in work sessions and meetings. The board proceeded to a vote on the amendment and the chair announced the result as the vote carrying.
