The Heath City Council approved its consent agenda July 22, which included ratifying minutes and authorizing the city manager to contract with Kaye Industries for $136,896 to construct a pickleball shade structure at Town Center Park.
Later in the meeting the council also unanimously adopted Resolution 250722B, an amendment to the city’s board-and-commission appointment policy that clarifies how chairs and vice chairs are selected (the amendment allows boards to appoint their own leadership unless an ordinance states otherwise). Council discussion noted the change aligns policy with boards’ requests for self-governance.
In addition the council approved a slate of appointments and reappointments across advisory bodies. Appointed or reappointed members (recorded during the meeting) include appointees to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Architectural Review Board, Take Area Appeal Panel, Park Board, Special Events Board and the Finance Board. Council described the year as a record recruitment year for volunteers and thanked applicants.
The motions carried unanimously.
