The City of Dawsonville Downtown Development Authority voted to approve an access easement for the Garden Street communities and authorize execution of the related documents during a special called meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Downtown development director Amanda Edmonson told the board that the DDA has completed the marketing-plan items approved earlier and “we've come in under budget.” Edmonson said the organization is continuing work on concert programming, has executed a contract for a billboard and has begun securing sponsorships for the events. Edmonson also presented a proposed addition to the DDA's application in a traditional project-management format and said the board could review the document at the next meeting or provide feedback to staff in the meantime.
On new business, the board considered documents for approval of an access easement; Edmonson said some previous approvals related to the same conveyance date from earlier years and that a representative of the applicant was present. Jamie McCracken moved to approve access to the easement for the Garden Street communities and to authorize signing of the documents; Tasha Howell seconded. The chair announced the motion carried.
The meeting record does not include a roll-call vote tally or the name of the individual who ultimately signed or was formally designated as signer. The board also deferred action on updating signers until its next meeting, Edmonson said.
The special meeting was brief. The agenda included a short director's report and a single new-business action that concluded with approval of the easement. Staff present included city attorney Kevin Tallent, deputy clerk Tracy Smith and city manager Jacob Evans. No members of the public signed up for public input at the meeting.
Board members were asked to review the proposed project-management addition to the DDA application and to provide any feedback to staff before the next meeting.
