Tuscaloosa City Schools board approves personnel list, expands plumbing program, sets graduation early release and greenlights superintendent search surveys

The Tuscaloosa City Schools Board of Education on Aug. 19 approved a series of routine and programmatic items, voting unanimously on personnel changes, a memorandum of understanding to expand a plumbing career program, a districtwide half-day release for high school graduations on May 11, 2026, and a contract with the Alabama Association of School Boards to administer stakeholder surveys for a superintendent search.

Agenda and minutes: Early in the meeting the board adopted the Aug. 19 meeting agenda and approved the minutes from the Aug. 5 meeting. Both motions passed with affirmative votes from the five board members present.

Personnel: The board approved the superintendent's recommendations regarding personnel changes. Dr. Cameron, TCS staff, summarized the packet: "Starting on page 1, we have 9 resignations, 2 declinations, 9 new classified personnel, 4 20 25, 26 Paul Bryant athletic supplements, 37 part time extended day tutors, 1 20 24, 25 contracted coach..."
