The City of Salinas Housing and Land Use Committee on Aug. 19 voted to table approval of meeting minutes and requested staff correct minutes from March 18, June 10 and the Aug. 19 meeting before returning them for approval.
Committee members moved to table the consent-item minutes after a member noted the packet produced the March 18 minutes under the consent item for the current meeting and that the June minutes had also been misfiled. The member said the minutes produced when clicking the consent item “are for the March meeting, but the consideration item on those minutes is the consideration item on today’s agenda.” The member made a formal motion to table the March 18 minutes and asked staff to bring back corrected minutes for March 18, June 10 and Aug. 19 at the next Housing and Land Use Committee meeting.
The motion to table was seconded and the committee took a roll-call vote. Councilmember Salazar voted “yes.” Chair Barajas and Councilmember Sandoval voted “yes.” The motion carried.
The committee did not approve the minutes at the Aug. 19 meeting; instead, staff were directed to review and correct the listed minutes and return them for approval at a subsequent committee meeting. The motion’s text requested corrected minutes for the March 18, June 10 and Aug. 19 meetings; the committee did not set an earlier deadline beyond “the next housing and land use committee meeting.”
