Benbrook council approves routine ordinance renumbering, finance reports, interlocal agreements, engineering roster and new dump truck

Benbrook City Council voted unanimously 7-0 Thursday to approve a set of routine administrative, finance and procurement items, including a clerical correction to an ordinance number, acceptance of fiscal reports, two interlocal agreements with Benbrook Water Authority, selection of qualified engineering firms under the Texas Professional Services Procurement Act and purchase of a replacement dump truck.

The council acted on items that city staff described as procedural or budgeted: correcting an ordinance number, accepting the finance and quarterly investment reports for the period ending June 30, authorizing two interlocal agreements with Benbrook Water Authority (utility-bill collection for refuse and stormwater fees, and street-cut repair services), approving a ranked list of engineering firms for future city projects, and awarding a purchase for a new dump truck at a quoted price.

City Secretary Beth Fisher told the council the ordinance-number correction is clerical but important for record keeping and legal references. "Assigning an incorrect ordinance number, even if clerical in nature, can result in confusion during audits, legal references, or codification," Fisher said.
