Walker planning commission tables rezoning request for Remembrance Road property to Aug. 20

The City of Walker Planning Commission on Wednesday, July 16, tabled a rezoning request for 4064 Remembrance Road NW (Case 25010) at the applicant's request and agreed to revisit the application at the commission's Aug. 20 meeting.

The applicant, David Netty, asked the commission to rezone the parcel from C1 (local commercial) to SA (suburban residential single-family) so the lot could be divided and developed as single-family homes. Netty told the commission he had originally planned a cabinet/shop use but "pivoted away from a potential commercial use to an alternate use, which would be residential" after speaking with neighbors and reviewing market demand. He said sewer service is available and that utility connections are feasible.
