Development Review Committee recommends Azalea Pointe landscaping buffer to department heads

Nassau County—s Development Review Committee on July 22 recommended that department heads approve TabASP25-028, the Azalea Pointe landscaping buffer plan, after staff said an extensive review found the plan met applicable regulations.

Tabitha Bostick, development services and chair of the Development Review Committee, opened the meeting and said the committee had one project to forward to department heads for approval. "Good morning. Welcome to the regular meeting of the development review committee. Today is Tuesday, 07/22/2025. My name is Tabitha Bostick with development services, and I will be serving as the chair. Today, we have 1 project being recommended to the department heads for approval," she said.

Stephanie Kaiser of the Planning Department summarized staff work on the file, saying the review had been thorough. "Just for the record, staff review over the months since this property became, uncompliant has been very extensive, in making sure that all applicable regulations have been met with this plan before it was brought to DRC, for approval, and planning has no comments," Kaiser said.

Representatives from other departments confirmed they had no outstanding comments. Constance Lake of the Building Department said she had no comment. Kayla Pierce of Development Services said, "We have no further comments." Rodney Esprit of the Health Department and Amanda Valmont of the Fire Department each said they had no further comments.
