Polk County awards demolition bid in Crookston, approves Chalais State final plat

County staff said asbestos sampling and abatement were completed in July and that the property was not suitable for rehabilitation. The motion to award the bid carried on voice vote.
Separately, the board approved the Chalais State final plat. County planning staff told commissioners they had received FEMA documentation removing the home and garage from the floodplain based on new elevation information from Houston Engineering. Staff said the final plat had been cleaned up for recording and that Mylar copies for signature were expected before the next meeting; the board carried the motion to approve the final plat.
Votes and procedural notes: the board moved and seconded both items and approved them by voice vote at the meeting.
