Staff said one case involved a previous owner with severe post-traumatic stress disorder who had been able to remain in the house while the current owner had cooperated; staff reported coordination with the Marine Corps League and contacts at the Department of Veterans Affairs to assist the owner. The speaker identified outreach and casework that helped the affected individual, but did not claim the county would provide new ongoing services beyond the fund release.
Commissioners confirmed staff had reviewed documentation and asked that the payments be made by address if parcel numbers were not available on the paperwork. A motion to release the surplus funds for the two addresses passed on a voice vote.
