Randolph County Schools board approves SRO contracts, meal prices, school zone signage, cheer trip and personnel actions

Randolph County Schools board members approved multiple routine items by voice vote at their meeting on Aug. 7, including school resource officer contracts, changes to employee and guest meal prices, a resolution to install school-zone signage, an out-of-state field trip for RCHS cheerleaders and the personnel action sheet.
The board approved contracts between the Randolph County Commission, the town of Wedowie, the Town of Wadley and Randolph County Schools for school resource officers for the 2025–26 school year. The motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members also approved new paid-meal rates for employees and guests for the 2025–26 school year. The superintendent recommended — and the board approved — the following prices as stated at the meeting: lunch for paid employees $5.05 and for guests $5.25; breakfast for paid employees $3.25 and for guests $3.50.
The board adopted a resolution to permit installation of solar, flashing school-zone signs on State Highway 48 at Randolph County High School. According to materials in the board packet, the signage program would be paid in part by the state Department of Transportation with the district purchasing one unit while the DOT would pay for the matching unit.
The board approved an out-of-state field trip for approximately 10 Randolph County High School varsity cheerleaders to LaGrange, Georgia, to attend a cheer camp led by Jessica Farrah.
The personnel action sheet was approved as presented. Earlier in the meeting the board also approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of the July 17, 2025, board meeting by voice vote.
