Norris School Board approves $850,000 transfer, hires JEO for pre‑bond design work and greenlights HVAC repair

The Norris School District Board of Education on Aug. 12 approved an $850,000 transfer from the general fund to the district depreciation fund, authorized $45,000 in additional design services with engineering firm JEO to support potential bond planning, and approved an emergency replacement of a high‑school rooftop unit coil for $17,007.29.

Board members and district staff told the board the actions are part of preparation for a potential facilities bond and to protect the district’s general fund while ongoing facility work continues. District leaders also reviewed a construction manager at‑risk (CMAR) schedule and said the board will decide later whether to place a bond on a February 2025 special election or the May 2025 primary ballot, an outcome that will affect the timeline for design, cost estimating and community engagement.
