The Evansville City Council opened sealed bids for irrigation-system contracts at Helfrich and Findrick golf courses and referred the proposals to the purchasing department for review.
Mr. Stahl, identified during the agenda item, read the Helfrich bids. For Helfrich Golf Course Mr. Stahl reported a base bid from GT Irrigation LLC of $1,581,000; a base bid from the George E. Ley Company of $1,348,473.13; and a base bid from Mid America Golf and Landscape Inc. of $1,360,341.92. Mr. Stahl said alternate and unit pricing items were included in the submissions; the council record shows some alternate figures but several line items were read quickly and not fully clarified on the record.
For Findrick Golf Course Mr. Stahl read a base bid from GT Irrigation LLC of $1,598,000 and a base bid from Mid America Golf and Landscape of $1,389,921.99. Mr. Stahl said alternate 1 for some bids was listed as not applicable or not available. After opening the envelopes, the council held the bids under advisement and submitted them to the purchasing department for evaluation and recommendation.
Council members did not vote to award the contracts at the meeting; they only opened and recorded the bids for procurement review.
