The board voted unanimously to adopt the superintendent goals and objectives as presented. The motion was moved and passed on a voice vote with all members recorded as in favor.
Later in the meeting the board accepted a set of gifts and donations from parent-teacher organizations, businesses and foundations that will support classroom technology, musical instruments, athletic field materials and other site-specific needs across the district. Examples presented to the board included:
- Boulder Creek Elementary PTO: nearly $5,600 for learning-technology subscriptions. - Desert Cove Elementary: $1,200 in disinfectant wipes. - Desert Shadows Elementary PTA: $6,000 for Suzuki Strings musical instruments and $1,500 for chairs. - Greyhawk Classic Resonance Foundation: $19,260 to support departments and programs at Greenway Middle School. - Belgard Commercial: a noncash donation of concrete pavers valued at approximately $18,000 for a high school baseball field.
Board President Greenberg called for approval and the board voted to accept the donations unanimously.
