County board refers audit of Behavioral Health Services over competency-notification questions

The referral motion, introduced by Supervisor Kathleen Vincent, asked that the department formally submit a recently completed self-review as an informational report so the county board could consider it alongside the resolution. Supervisor Vincent said the referral would “allow for further committee review, particularly in light of the recent self review conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services.”
Audit committee chair Supervisor Ekblad signaled support for the referral, saying the committee had received public requests to review the department's self-audit and that returning the file to committee was appropriate so the public and supervisors could examine the department's material.
The board recorded the roll-call vote after brief discussion; the clerk announced 18 ayes, 0 noes. The referral sends file no. 25-480 back to the audit committee for further consideration and any committee-level requests for additional information from Health and Human Services.
