The Cookeville City Council on Aug. 21 approved Change Order No. 3 for the 2023 South Jefferson Waterline Replacement (I-40 to Reagan Street).
Mister Turner told council two sections on Church Avenue could not be completed with no-dig technology and therefore must be opened and replaced. He said staff expects the South Jefferson Waterline project has sufficient budget to cover the work without changing the contract amount and reported the contract price as $6,373,948. Turner recommended approval; the council voted 5-0 to approve the change order.
During the discussion Turner and council members noted a typographical inconsistency in earlier slides but staff clarified the correct contract figure in the meeting. The transcript records the change as an extension of days rather than a contract-price increase.
