Board discusses moving budget committee meetings to Thursdays; two budget committee terms to be decided in September

Matthew McCorra, the district’s executive director of finance and business services, presented the proposed budget development calendar for fiscal year 2026–27 and told the North Clackamas School District board that the primary change is moving budget committee meetings from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
"The one notable change is changing the date of the budget committee meetings ... from Tuesday[s] to Thursday[s] to bring it more in line with the structure and cadence of regular board meetings," McCorra said. Directors said the change will avoid conflicts with election nights in May and that staff welcomed the move.
The item was discussion only; the board chair said the calendar will be brought back for a formal vote at the board’s next meeting in September.
McCorra also briefed the board on two budget committee vacancies. He said positions 9 and 12 had terms that expired June 30, 2025, and that both incumbents indicated interest in continuing. The chair said the board will declare those positions vacant at the next meeting and then either reappoint the eligible members or open the application process. The chair said the positions would be declared vacant on the 11th and the application would open on the 12th.
No formal action was taken on the calendar or the vacancies at this meeting.
