Parent urges Aurora East USD 131 to centralize preschool registration information

She said her child was screened on March 31 but she had not received placement information in time for the first day of school; she described other families posting to Facebook and receiving communications on different days.
Benitez urged the board to take three specific actions: create a centralized, user-friendly preschool registration page on the district website with step-by-step instructions and multi-lingual contact information; implement a staged communications timeline with email, text and mail updates for milestones (application received, placement updates, classroom assignments, orientation); and appoint a designated preschool family liaison at the district level to guide new families through the process.
Benitez framed the requests as small, actionable changes that would reduce confusion, build trust and support both families and staff during early transitions into the district.
