"700 littles is way too many kids in 1 school," retired BISD teacher Betsy Lewis told trustees, describing rooms she called "very small" with 24 desks where a teacher cannot easily move between students for guided instruction. "They can't put their chairs bump each other. There's not room on the floor to do literacy centers or for the teacher to do group instruction."
