Commissioner Bassett promotes Dalton developer presentation, community meeting and fundraiser

“Tonight we have a girls night out in Dalton. And very excited. It's a first annual and it will benefit Revitalize Dalton,” Commissioner Bassett said. She encouraged attendance at a community meeting on Aug. 21 where, she said, “the developer who owns the land, who's going to be developing that land, is going to present the plans that we have up to that date.” Bassett said drawings would be available and that the county might be asked to help identify financing, grants or infrastructure support.
Bassett also noted a local fundraiser: “I brought my cowplap tickets. If anybody needs any more cowplap tickets, I have to have them back in by tomorrow,” she said. The transcript records the name of the beneficiary as Revitalize Dalton; no developer name, contract, grant amounts or formal request to the county appear in the meeting record.
