The Uintah County Municipal Building Authority ratified a Community Impact Board (CIB) grant award of $700,000 to assist construction of a multipurpose facility at Vernal Memorial Park.
Jenny Bird, purchasing and grants, told the authority the total project cost is estimated at $1,400,000 and includes engineering, utilities, construction and contingency. The remaining $700,000 in matching funds consists of $500,000 from revitalization funds, a $50,000 Uinta County cash match and $150,000 from Vernal City, Bird said. The funding award was approved June 5 and the grant agreement was signed electronically July 8; the authority voted to ratify the executed agreement.
Officials said the grant term runs from June 5, 2025, through June 3, 2030. The MB A chair, Commissioner Norton, presided over the item; commissioners voted unanimously to ratify the agreement and asked staff to proceed with project administration and reporting to the CIB.
