Wylie Historic Review Commission elects leadership, shortens application window after state notice rule change

The Wylie Historic Review Commission reorganized leadership and discussed administrative changes at its July 24 meeting. Commissioners elected Lisonbee as chair and Sandra as vice chair, approved minutes from the Dec. 19, 2024 meeting and welcomed a new member, Becca Herbesh.
During roll call for leadership, a commissioner nominated Lisonbee for chair and the nomination was seconded; the motion passed. A nomination of Sandra for vice chair likewise received a second and carried. The minutes from the Dec. 19, 2024 meeting were moved and approved during the consent agenda.
Commission staff advised members that a recent change enacted by the state legislature requires meeting notices to be posted further in advance — three full business days rather than the prior 72-hour rule — and that change affects the commission’s application timeline. Staff said the practical effect is that the commission will need to receive HRC applications earlier; staff estimated the latest acceptable filing will be about two weeks before a meeting, rather than one week as was sometimes practiced under the 72-hour rule.
Staff also said the commission currently has one pending application (referred to as the "Frankie's" application in discussion) and is waiting for additional information from the applicant. A staff member declined to discuss details of that application because the proposal could change pending the additional materials.
The commission welcomed new member Becca Herbesh. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
