Villa Park posts tutorial video to help residents find agendas and meeting packets

The Village of Villa Park Committee of the Whole on Aug. 11 received a short tutorial video showing residents how to access meeting agendas, minutes and packet materials from the village website.
Lily Morgan, communications specialist intern, presented the video and said it will be available on the village YouTube page and social media channels the following morning. "This is a quick video to demonstrate how to access our agenda and minutes from our website," Morgan said during the presentation.
The video walks users through the village home page, instructs them to click "Agenda and Minutes," and explains that packet downloads are available; presenters demonstrated entering a public username, navigating boards and commissions, and searching by meeting year or decade. Staff clarified that the downloadable packet contains the materials trustees receive at the time of the meeting, while minutes are the meeting record or a play-by-play summary.
Trustee Carrie Alfano asked staff to replay a portion of the video so remote viewers could see what had been missed on the feed. After the replay, trustees thanked staff for producing the resource and were told the video will be posted for public access the next morning.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that was approved by voice vote; the board did not record an exact tally in the transcript. The village said the Village Board of Trustees meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
