The LaSalle County Property Committee on Oct. 24 moved three routine items forward during its meeting.
Chair opened a resolution “to approve the extension of a contract for custodial and janitorial services.” Committee member Mike made the motion to forward the custodial contract extension to the full board; Joe seconded. The chair called for the vote and recorded “All in favor,” and the motion carried. The committee noted this is the third year of a four-year contract and that the estimated annual cost is $122,500. The motion forwarded the item to the full board for final approval; no final board action occurred at the committee meeting.
The committee also took two routine administrative actions: it moved to dispense the minutes from the previous meeting and approved a motion to pay the bills. In both cases the chair called for the vote, members responded “Aye,” and the motions carried.
Why it matters: The custodial contract extension will be decided by the full board; the committee’s vote forwarded the recommendation and recorded the contract amount for budget planning.
Ending: Committee members did not debate alternative vendors or contract terms at length during the meeting; the custodial extension will next appear before the full board.
