The timeline presented included stakeholder data work already completed over the summer, grade‑level orientation and focus groups in the fall, a community “design day” in winter for broader input and a finalized plan in spring 2026 to guide a multi‑year implementation and progress monitoring process.
Student and staff honors were noted: Penfield High School students Leah and Micah were named Section 5 Scholarship winners and Penfield High’s girls lacrosse team was recognized by the Monroe County Legislature for sectional and state titles. The superintendent also announced a community ribbon cutting and building tours at the new Transportation and Facilities Center, 1340 Jackson Road, scheduled for the day after the board meeting; the event will include an ice cream truck and public tours.
Human resources notes in the meeting included title changes to align leadership nomenclature: three special education administrators will have the new title assistant director for specialized programming and supports, and the district’s Director of STEAM title will be changed to Director of STEM with arts reassigned to another administrator.
